Germany, France, and Great Britain intend to undermine the censorship in Iran. The foreign ministers of the three countries launched an appeal calling on the European Union to initiate respective steps. Above all, the jamming of foreign broadcasting services shall be stopped. According to the appeal, these interventions aim at depriving the Iranian populace of their right to information. In December, BBC and Deutsche Welle had complained about their broadcasting activities being jammed. Furthermore, Iran should be stopped from importing technologies to facilitate the monitoring of mass media.
