According to the German PEN Center, dissidents in Iran currently go through a “wave of terror”. The Iranian authorities are confronting everybody who does not yield to the delusional ideas of the Iranian government. As an example, PEN describes the fate of the translator Reza Najafi. He translated texts of several German authors, like Hesse, Kafka, and Grass, into Persian. Najafi was arrested five days ago. His wife and son have disappeared. PEN’s vice president Dirk Sager stated that the Iranian author is not a political activist, but a man of literature.
